Terms and conditions

The rules for using DocuFidelity, in plain language. Last updated 13 October 2026.

1. Agreement

These terms apply to your use of DocuFidelity (“the service”): this website and the document tools on it. By using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. The service

The service converts documents between Word and PDF and edits, merges, splits and watermarks PDFs. It is free to use and needs no account.

Limits apply to file size, page count, the number of files per request and how many requests can be processed at once. When the service is busy a request may be queued or refused; you can try again later.

3. Your documents

You keep all rights in the documents you upload and in the results. We claim no ownership of them and do not use them for any purpose other than producing the result you asked for.

Documents are processed in a temporary workspace and deleted when the response has been sent, as described in the privacy policy. Because nothing is kept, we cannot recover a file or a result for you afterwards: keep your own copy of the original.

You are responsible for the documents you upload. Only upload documents you have the right to use and process.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use the service to process content that is unlawful or that infringes someone else’s rights; to upload files built to damage, overload or break into the service; to get around its limits; or to send automated bulk requests that degrade it for other people.

We may block or limit access that breaks these rules or puts the service at risk.

5. Check the results

Conversion and editing are automated. Results can differ from the original — for example where a font is substituted or a PDF’s layout cannot be rebuilt exactly as a Word document. Each tool page lists what to expect.

Review every result before you rely on it, send it or file it. In particular, open a redacted PDF and confirm that everything you meant to remove is gone before you share it.

6. No warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of results and uninterrupted availability. Nothing on this site is legal, financial or other professional advice.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of the service is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profit or business, arising from your use of the service or from relying on its results. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Third-party services and software

The site may show advertising and may use analytics provided by Google; the privacy policy says which of these are active and what they receive. Your documents are never shared with them.

The service is built on open-source software, including LibreOffice, MuPDF and pdf2docx, each under its own licence.

9. Changes

We may change, suspend or end the service, or any tool in it, at any time. We may also update these terms; the date at the top of this page shows the latest version. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
